Frequently Asked Questions

  • Why do you use yellow cedar for your fence panels?

We use Yellow Cedar for all our fence panels due to its extreme durability and outstanding beauty. Renowned for its distinctive, uniform yellow colour, fine texture and straight grain it is considerably harder than most local softwoods, it is one of the world’s most durable woods with exceptional longevity even when in ground or water contact. Yellow cedar is superior to red cedar for fencing.

  • How are your cedar fence panels better than the competition?

As owner of The One Stop Fence shop and a 10+ year veteran in the fence installation industry I have brought together my years of knowledge and market research to remove the stigma around the way fence contractors and homeowners think of “Pre-Fab” cedar panels.

The way we build our panels are completely different to the competition, we tell everyone we meet we are not a “cedar mill” just wanting to move lumber, we are a custom fence manufacturer that is driven by quality not price, all our fence panels are hand built by qualified carpenters. We highly recommend you come visit our showroom to see for yourself.

  • What is difference between Vinyl fence panels and Composite fence panels?

    Composite

Commonly formed from recycled plastics and wood pieces, composite fences look like wood, but you’ll never have to paint or stain them. One of the main benefits of composite is the green factor — you are not using new lumber to build a fence. The wood in composite fencing material typically comes from recycled chips or sawdust. Composite fencing is dense, which makes it strong enough to stand up to the elements for years but it is still relatively lightweight.

    Vinyl

Constructed strictly from PVC — polyvinyl chloride — vinyl fencing has the advantage of being inexpensive to buy and to maintain. If you are looking for a more modern fence, vinyl fencing is the answer. Like any plastic, it can be formed into any shape imaginable. Many vinyl fences are easier to install than composite because the panels notch together, rather than needing screws.

  • Is there are warranty on your fence panels?

Each fence product we sell has a product warranty, its dependent on the product itself, when you shop the website you will see individual warranty tags. Please view the details for the fence panel that you are interested in to read about the warranty period.

The warranty is purely for the product, any claims for warranty after the product is installed will be to be investigated by the manufacturer.

  • Are your? cedar fence panels, stained before assembly?

Yes, we receive the fence panel material individually pre-stained and we know that our supplier “Turtle Shell Pro Cedar” has gone through the correct checks that are needed to prepare for the stain process, We highly recommend pre-staining the material before assembly as it gives the cedar a 6 sided protection against any form of weathering.

  • Can I view fence panel samples?

We recommend a visit to our showroom for samples, plus to see our outdoor display where you can touch and feel all the products available as well as receive some great advice from our expert staff.

  • Can I get a ‘custom’ stain for my fence?

Most clients are pleased with our standard stain options, but we always try to accommodate specific client requests (although there may be extra charges).

  • What is your turn around time for a Prestained Custom Ceder fence?

We aim to get your cedar fence completed with a turnaround of 7-10 business days, during peak months this could climb to 15 days.
